We were able to go down to Hurricane for a little over a week for Easter and to have a break! It was so needed, and we absolutely loved it. We started the weekend off by coloring Easter eggs, had Easter, and went to the car show in Hurricane. Throughout the rest of the week we got everyone's dentist appointments in, and I even fit a hair appointment in. Between all that we went on walks a few times, had lunch at the splash pad in Hurricane, practiced some baseball, played with their cousins, went to the park a couple of times, they played outside every single day, and we took extended family pictures! We even built a fire pit and roasted marshmallows for smores. :) Busy, but so good.
The boys loved the car show! This was their first time going and at first they didn't really know what to expect, but once we started walking around they both started pointing out all the different cars they liked. It was especially fun to compare the really old models to the newer models and see how they had changed over the years. Bridger and Beckham both chose their favorite car to vote for before we left. We also got some delicious ice cream! It was a blast, the only thing that would have made it better was if Jeremy could have been there with us. He got down to Hurricane later that night, after a training he had to finish ended. We are happy he got there in time for Easter, though! :)
Beckham's favorite, he had chosen an orange charger earlier, and by the end changed his mind to this one! :)
Bridger's first favorite car at the car show.
And then the car that ended up being his favorite by the end. :)
Grandma Brown always sets up the best Easter egg hunt for all the grandkids! Every kid has their own clues in their own color of eggs, and their baskets are all hidden different places. Then there are boiled eggs hidden around the yard, and plastic eggs full of candy. There are also toys out on the lawn. Basically, it's a big party! :) Grandma and Grandpa take care of the hunt and all the parents take care of their kid's baskets, I think the kids were really happy!
While we were down in Hurricane for the week we decided that we wanted to do some fun things with the boys since things have been so crazy with school. One of those things was roasting marshmallows!! Jeremy and the older boys built an awesome little fire pit in Grandma and Grandpa Brown's backyard while I put Anderson to bed, then they found some good sticks (before Grandpa Brown pulled out the metal roasting sticks, lol), and we pulled up some chairs. The evening was SO beautiful, and the boys had an absolute blast roasting marshmallows and making smores. It made my heart happy to have a slower, calm moment with our family. When Anderson is older, he can join us, too. :)
Anderson had finished his lunch and was just walking around, playing with toys. He found Benson's leftover sandwich on the floor and I found him like this. LOL. :)
