Roslyn's Blessing. :)

This gorgeous girl was blessed on November 29, 2019. Grandma, Roslyn, and I chose the pattern, fabric, and lace for this gown together and it turned out so beautiful. My mom worked so hard on this and I am so grateful, it looks like a family heirloom. My mom has made all of our kids blessing gowns, I am so grateful I have something so special to save for them from her.

We had her blessing in Hurricane, on Friday, November 29th at 4:30 PM. We've loved planning our baby blessings outside of Sacrament meeting, we feel it's more intimate and less stressful, so that's what we did this time. :)

Jeremy gave the blessing and invited Grandpa Brown, Grandpa Jarvis, Ben Scow, and Phil Olsen (a member of the Bishopric and longtime neighbor to our family) to be in the circle. We also would have loved to have Cade and Jarom in the circle, but they couldn't be there. We Face Timed Brianna and Jerry, and Jarom and Marisa so they could hear. :)

Phil Olsen conducted, Daddy led the song (I Am A Child of God), and Grandpa Brown gave the opening prayer.

Her blessing:

"Our Father in heaven, by the authority of the Melchizedek Priesthood, we take this infant in our arms to give her a name and a blessing. The name which she will be known on the records of the church will be Roslyn Teresa Jarvis. With this, we also give you a blessing, Roslyn, that you may have a keen mind and quick intellect, that you may be able to recognize the things of the Spirit throughout your life, that you may be able to develop a strong testimony in your Father in heaven and His son, Jesus Christ, and the Atonement. We bless you that you may be able to find a worthy young man to take you to the temple and that you may be able to have the strength to follow these covenants throughout your whole life and be prepared to return to your Father in heaven in glory. We bless you that you can develop talents and gifts you need to do the Lord's work here on the earth and be a light for him, to shine that light to those that you meet, that you will be an example to them and a strength for many. We bless you that you may be a joy, a joy to your family, and a joy to all those that come in contact with you. We leave these blessings with you at this time, and any other blessing you may need. In the name of Jesus Christ, Amen."

After her blessing we got to visit with friends and family and have Daddy's famous homemade chocolate chip cookies. :) We are so grateful to all our family and friends that supported us and came to celebrate with us!

2 Months!! :)

Rozzie Girl is TWO months!!

We love her.

So much. I think we are just all going to pass out.

She has several nicknames already:
Daddy calls her "Pickle"
Mommy calls her "Rozzie Girl," "Muffin," "Sugar Drop," and "Lil' Peach"
Bridger calls her "Pretty Baby"
Beckham calls her "RozzlePop" and "Lemon Drop"
Benson calls her "Chickabooty" and "Cute Cutie Cutie"
Anderson calls her "Baby"

I love that everyone has their own sweet name for her. :)

  • At her two month appointment she weighed 12 lbs 1 oz. and measured 22 inches.
  • She is wearing 0-3 or 2-4 month clothes.
  • She started really smiling at five weeks!
  • She loves to bat at the little swinging toys on her play mat, she's really good at it!
  • She does not like tummy time. She much prefers to be looking over mine or Jeremy's shoulder, lol.
  • She is cooing and it is so adorable. Sometimes she tries so hard to get the coos out that she does this little cough instead of a coo, lol. She'll also sometimes close her eyes and let out a louder coo and it's just so adorable.
  • She LOVES to take a shower with me or Jeremy, and she also loves naked time everyday.
  • She loves light. Since she was born she will stare at the windows and lights allll day long.
  • She has been smiling SO big now!! I love it. It melts my heart. When she's talking and smiling at us, Jeremy and I tear up because she's so sweet.
  • She still loves the Solly wrap. I love it, too. She is perfectly content to wrapped up tight next to me and looking around at everything as I do what I need to around the house.
  • She sleeps a lot still, but her fussiness in the evenings has really calmed down. She started being calmer at night around 7 weeks. She still fights sleep sometimes, but it's much better than those first 7 weeks! Her schedule is still kind of everywhere, but she usually eats a lot in the evening and then around 7-8 she sleeps until 10-12, I nurse her again and then she will go between 4-5 hours, nurse again, than sleep until about 7 AM. I nurse her again in the morning and she goes back to sleep for another couple hours, usually until around 9. Then she's awake and wants to talk and play for a little bit, then sleeps (usually in my wrap) for another couple hours. So she naps and wakes off and on throughout the day. :)
  • If she's slept for a long time and is really hungry, I'll lay down on she'll latch on with her tiny hand in a fist by her cheek, and then as she gets full her hands relax and she falls asleep. It's so sweet.
  • She sleeps in our bed, right next to me, we wake up all cuddled together and warm it makes me not ever want to move.
  • She got her first pearl bracelet this month, and I got one to match! :)

Beckham comes in every single morning and the first thing he does is give her a kiss, then gives me a kiss, and then he goes to get breakfast. lol. He is so sweet. Benson calls her "chickabooty", and he says "cute cutie cutie" to her, I love it. Anderson tries to share his binky with her, and it's so cute because he LOVES his binky, so he's showing his love for her in his tiny 21 month old way. Bridger thinks she is SO funny. If she cries he comes running to help her calm down, and if I'm busy and need help he will just lay with her and talk to her for however long I need him to, it's so sweet. Bridger says she has baby superpowers that make people look at her and smile and they can't stop, LOL. I believe him. These boys love her SO much. It makes my heart happy. :) Her carseat is between Bridger and Beckham's in the backseat of the van (it's the only place it would fit with five carseats now, lol), she doesn't like her carseat very much, just like her brothers didn't like theirs. If she starts to fuss they put her binky back in and play with her and talk to her to help her stay happy until she goes to sleep, if she gets really mad and starts crying it completely stresses them out. Also, if Bridger or Beckham are mad or upset, I can just show them Roslyn's sweet face and they will instantly smile and be happy. If that's not a superpower I don't know what is. It's sweet they all love her so much.

November 5, 2019
Some thoughts I want to note.
We had our last visit with our midwife this morning and my heart is full of so many emotions. I cried last night, I cried while we were there, I cried on the way home, and now I'm crying some more. She has been there for four of our births, which are some of the most sacred moments of our lives. She was there at Beckham's water birth, she saw an issue with the cord right away and it was taken care of quickly and safely. She was there when Benson decided to come with his hand by his face, I remember saying I couldn't when she told me to push again, she had her hand on my knee and said so matter of fact, "you have to." And I did. When things in life have felt too hard, I remember that still, and it gives me strength. She was there at Anderson's birth, and taught Jeremy how to catch our son. She was there at Roslyn's birth as she was born partial en caul, supporting me with a gentle hand on my shoulder and supporting Jeremy as he caught our daughter. I joked with her today about letting her know when we schedule our next family pictures so she can be there, because she has come to be more than a friend to us and will always have a special place in our hearts. I have no doubt midwifery is her calling, and I'm grateful we were able to work with her these past seven years.
