Wearing his daddy's "eyes."
This happened around two months ago...
Bridger comes over and gives me a hug, then shakes my hand, then steps back and waves and says "bye mom" and climbs into his little red tikes car and drives away. Repeat. ha ha. Well, one of those times that he did this, I watched him get into his little car and drive away and the thought hit me that one day he really is going to give me a hug and say "bye mom," and drive away. I like teared up as I was envisioning him in my head and watching him play at the same time. Whenever I tell Jeremy stuff like this he just laughs because he thinks I'm ridiculous. Rude, huh?
Cars!! He loves them. :)
Bridger has been coughing a lot, I'm not sure why, allergies maybe? A cough? Anyway, I put him to bed and he was still coughing after an hour so I went up to put some essential oil on him. I unzipped his little sleeper and he said "not tickle me mom, not tickle me..." ha ha. I'm not sure if he was all the way awake or not, but I rubbed some coconut oil on him and he looked up at me all tired and kept saying "tickle me, tickle me mom." It was so cute. I just told him I wouldn't tickle him, then zipped up his little PJ's and he passed out.
Later...
Me: After you finish this, we have to go to bed.
Bridger: I don't want to go to bed...watch a show. He grins at me.
He just thinks he's so big now.
Sunday afternoon nap with daddy. :)
He's been potty trained since August or September, I can't remember exactly when, but it's been awhile. I knew he was ready, I think he was ready before Beckham was born but everyone told me to wait because he might regress, so I did. Then a couple months after Beckham was born we decided to try and after one day he was good to go! He peed on the potty off and on for about six months before, and when he took a shower he would always say he needed to go pee, so we knew he could tell when it was time. We haven't done nighttime training, we are just waiting for him to gradually learn it, he already wakes up dry, or wakes up and asks for help about 30% of the time which I think is really good.
My very favorite words he says: peek-a-boo (sounds like cue-boo), blues clues (sounds like bewes cues), berries (bewees), waffle juice (for syrup), cuddle me, blue cereal (bew cereal, aka cheerios). I can't think of any others, but he says at least one thing everyday that makes me laugh, I have to start writing them down so I can remember!
He knows all of his shapes and colors, he knows his alphabet and can almost count to 15 all by himself (he mixes the numbers up sometimes). He loves to read, we read six books a day, 3 at nap time and 3 at bedtime. :) He loves puzzles, and his preschool workbook, but he doesn't really like to color...usually the crayons just get thrown around the room, ha ha. He loves cars and his train set more than any other toys and he likes to watch the Magic School Bus and Leap Frog shows.
Gotta hate those "flat tires..."
This boy also has THE funniest dance moves. He loves to dance, which is a change, because he used to be too embarrassed and he would get upset when Jeremy and I would dance. But now he loves to sing the ABC song (he knows the whole thing!) and dance to pretty much ANY music. He really loves this toddler station on Pandora that I play, though. And a few months ago, my mom and I caught him pretending to sing like Josh Groban with his mouth open way wide, while we were driving in the car.
He calls Beckham "baby boy," and has a special little voice he uses just for him. It's funny. :)
Those of you who are familiar with Orem...The other day we were driving on University Parkway and there's that HUGE missionary balloon on top of this building...well. We drove past and Bridger says, "Oh! Superman!" baha. I couldn't stop laughing. It's sort of true, right? ha ha.
Superman.
He is also in this new stage where we can tell him to say things and he will say it (it's mostly for our own entertainment...every parent does it. Or should. It's fun.). Anyway, a few weeks ago my mom, Brianna, and Marisa and Brigham were over for dinner and we were telling him to say all these different phrases and words like... I love broccoli (brockee), hippopotamus, I love potatoes...anyway, you get the picture. SO. After like five minutes of repeating our words back to us he all of a sudden just blurts out "I love hams. I love cheese. I love cake." Almost like he got sick of us saying what he "liked" so he decided to set things straight. It was so funny, I just busted up laughing. I even cried. It was so cute.
He still has his binky at night, I'm not too worried about it, he hasn't sucked it during the day since he was like 15 months old so we'll see if he'll just grow out of it rather than make it all dramatic and take it away.
He is so gosh dang handsome.
He hates brushing his teeth. He never forgets to ask for his vitamins. And he is so so so particular, about pretty much everything.
About two nights ago Bridger woke up in the middle of the night and yelled for "a drink." Jeremy has night duty for Bridger now that we have two kids, so he got up and went into his room, there was a little cup of water from before bed still on his dresser and Jeremy handed it to him.
Bridger: "No! Yucky water."
Jeremy: "It's ok, it's good still. Just drink it, it's ok."
Bridger: "No! Yucky water. Want new water!"
Jeremy: "Fine, I'll get you some new water."
Jeremy gets new water and Bridger drinks it.
Like I said, he is so particular! I thought it was hilarious.
It's just too bright outside! ha ha. This was a few weeks before Beckham was born.
Ok, I couldn't resist putting these next three up, ha ha.
1...
2...
3.
He does THE funniest faces when I tell him I'm going to take a picture. Ha ha. Silly kid.
I'm sure he'll be really happy when we look back at these in fifteen years. :)
Ok, a little story about the next two...Jeremy went home teaching a few weeks ago and Bridger decided he was taking too long so he asked if he could look outside. I let him open the door and stand on the porch, but that was it. I was busy doing some things and I look outside to see this...
He's finally home! ha ha.
