Funny Things From 2021

January 2021

*Benson was trying to hide a keychain from Anderson*
Me: "Did you just stuff that in your pants?"
Benson: "No. I put it in my pocket."
Me: "Dude. You don't have pockets."
Benson: *smiles all bashful and pulls the keychain out of his pants*

LOL.

-----

Beckham: "Mommy. I want to be a baker, an engineer, a robber, and a police officer."
Me: "What?? No way. Absolutely not. You cannot be a robber."
Beckham: "Fine. I'll just be a baker, or an engineer, or a police officer."

February 2021

Benson: "When I am a daddy I will have a Ferrari."
Me: "Ok. You'll have to work real hard and save your money so you can buy one."
Benson: *kind of sad* "I only have $7."
*Beckham chimes in*: "You have to have at least $18."

Haha!! I love them. I didn't have the heart to tell them the actual cost of a Ferrari.

July 2021

Bridger: "Why do you always accidentally break things?"
Beckham: "Because I always accidentally do."

Bridger's handwriting page, I'm going to take that as a win, LOL.

August 2021
Benson: "I'm going to get a Bugatti that fits all our family. It's going to be super long so all of us can. I'll bring all of my kids and my girls to buy some Hot Wheels cars. Then I'll just turn my Bugatti meter down so my kids don't die."

Haha! I love him. :)
-----
Beckham: "Quesadillas aren't DILLAS without the cheese." LOL.

September 2021

Jeremy: As I am building the play kitchen, Anderson hands me a piece of the set...
Me: "I don't need that piece right now, buddy."
Ander: "Why not?"
Me: "Because everything has a number, and it's not time for that piece yet."
Ander: "Oooooooh.... anyway, I don't need to go to bed."

Haha!! This was right before bed. It was so funny.
-----
Benson was giving Anderson the Leap Pad and says: "I call this the F-pad now." I busted up laughing, haha.

October 2021

I put Roz and Ander down for their naps and then awhile later heard them whispering, tiny feet running around upstairs, and heard them playing in the play room. Anderson had opened Roz's door monkey so she could come out to play. I smiled as I walked up the stairs, to hear these two toddlers playing so quietly, they both knew they should be in bed. They heard me coming and Ander quickly whispered to Roz to hide with him behind the pink chair in the playroom, so I hear all of the clatter of them running fast through the toys and I'm trying not to laugh. I walked into the room and they were SO quiet, haha. I pretended like I didn't know they had hidden, and called, "babies?" And Ander answers, "yeah?" lolol. Then I said, "are you guys in here?" And then he stands up and says, "yeah!" All happy about it. So I peek around the chair and Roz is still huddled on the floor trying to hide. Haha!! They are so stinking cute together. :)

November 2021

Ander grabs a piece of bread that was left out overnight and takes a bite, "this turned into crud!"

*Ander sneezes* "Excuse you!"
Me: *out of habit* "Excuse you."
Ander: "No! I say it for myself!"

December 2021

Not funny, but so sweet...

Grandma gave the kids a picture of Jesus for their one of their JINGO gifts this year and Anderson loves his. That night as he was getting tucked in he said this...

Anderson: "He's the brightest. He's brightiful. He makes things bright; outside in the dark. He does. I love God so much. Love God so much, Daddy."

Then he says, "He can make bright in the dark, so it can be daytime again. He can make the night shine like it's morning agin. He can make the night brightiful."

And, "Heaven came down and fell in the water and fixed all our places."

-----------
Ander: "Mommy, can you hold me?"
Me: *picks him up*
Ander: *cuddles into me* "Can you hold me all the days?"

Always, sweetie.

-----------
Me to Ander: "You're so tasty."
Ander: "I'm so cool. I can get muscles, and eat food, and get chocolate." *all serious like he is*

And later, "I'm strong, that's why I'm cool."

Roslyn is TWO!! :)

I kept track of the past several months and put them in her birthday post, so the first part is all covering the past year. I can't believe our baby girl is TWO. I look at some of these pictures and it seems like they were just taken this afternoon! But it has been so fun to get to know her and her personality, her likes and dislikes, and to see how her brothers treat and react to her. Since having Roz, we have seen how innately feminine she is, she's taught me to love myself more and our boys to appreciate those qualities women have. She is so sweet and gentle. If anyone speaks too firmly to her, she cries. If someone is sad, she will gently rub their cheek or hand. If she's not obeying, you can have a sweet conversation about why and what she needs to do, and then she will obey. She carries her Fuzzy's around everywhere, and plays so sweet with her toys. The boys have all learned to treat her different than they treat each other, they are sweet to her, and even speak in a sweeter voice. She is definitely in charge here, haha. And Jeremy, how do I even start? She can *look* at him and he will tear up. Haha. She loves dancing and singing, she knows sooo many nursery rhymes from Mother Goose Club. She dances and sings all around the living room when she watches that show, it's so cute to hear her sweet, tiny voice singing all the words to these songs! She also is quite opinionated in a non-confrontational way (Jeremy says she's just like me). If she doesn't want to be kissed or cuddled or hugged she will simply push us away from her, completely matter of fact about it. If she doesn't want what I serve for dinner, she doesn't get mad, she just won't eat it, haha. She's so cute. She loves to cuddle and watch a show on the couch, especially after naps. Also, her hair is getting soooo long!! In the past few months I've been able to put it up in adorable ponytails, her curls are amazing, so any hairstyle I do for her is beautiful. Her pigtails and ponytails are natural ringlets. Her curls are getting looser as her hair gets longer and thicker, but I love them just as much. She was super blond last year, but as you can see in the pictures, her hair is turning darker, more like honey, now. I've put a bunch more details below, so I'll finish here by saying that we are forever grateful for this sweet girl, we love her with all our hearts and souls. She brings such a sweetness to our family that we needed and were waiting a long time for. Oh, and w are completely happy to give her our anniversary date for her birthday. ;)

Here are pictures of this cutie girl from 13-21 months (in no particular order):

Her tasty swim suit this year.

Out in the snow with Grandma.

Pigtails!

About 13 months, she was holding that swing so tight!

Another of her looking super adorable in her swim suit!

Bathtime!

After nap playtime. :)

After church. :)

Her beautiful curls!

She loves to watch a show like this, all sprawled out on the floor.

Her first tiny pigtails!

She LOVES to pet Captain and throw his toys for him. :)

Her first shopping trip. 15 months old. She was walking around so cute with that bag on her arm, like she was in charge.

Some of her favorite toys are the critter babies we have, so cute.

She loved getting in Grandma and Grandpa's fridge and peeking out at us like this. :)

She loves her little fuzzies!

She puts *everything* in her little truck and hauls it around the house, haha. We find little surprises all over.

While we lived at Grandma and Grandpa's, her and Grandpa developed this cute time where she would cuddle with him and watch Umi Zumi while I got the other kids to bed. Grandpa still talks about how much he misses that time with her. :)

Petting a chick.

Grandma cuddles. :)

She loves swinging on the flat saucer swing at Grandma and Grandpa's house.

Petting baby goats!

Her first tiny baby curls. :)

18-20 months:

  • She is talking SO good! She has been saying 3 word sentences at 20 months. "No go bed!" Haha. She also says "Oh no!" All the time, in this cute, tiny, girly little voice. It's adorable. She also makes the sign for more with her fingertips together and says "more," when she needs more. She loves to point out clocks and other things she recognizes from our bedtime stories.
  • She loves to throw her arms up and say "Yay!!"
  • She says "Bye" in this cute little sing-song girly voice and waves all cute. It's adorable.
  • She loves to read books at night, especially touch-and-feel books. She loves little chicks in her books.
  • Her hair is getting longer and it gets in her eyes now and it bothers her, she wipes it back with her little hands and it goes right back into her eyes, so as soon as we get up I put her hair up into a tiny bun on top and brush out her curls. She likes it. :)
  • Her 2T pajamas are almost too small! But she is still fitting into her 18-24 month clothes just fine.
  • She loves to put her jewelry on, when I say "let's get your jewelry!" She follows me with her little wrist out to put her bracelets on and she loves them. She does the same thing when I say "let's do your hair!" She follows me to the bathroom and we do her hair and put a bow in and she smiles in the mirror and touches her hair, it's so cute.
  • She is for sure a momma's girl right now. She gives me kisses and has me kiss her "baby" (her fawn), she likes lots of quick kisses in a row, haha. She always wants me to hold and cuddle her throughout the day. It's so sweet.
  • In the mornings when she wakes up we put her in our bed and she says, "milk! Milk!" And lays down next to me to nurse. One morning, she finished nursing and I asked her, "is that yummy?" She nodded her head all cute and said "nummy!" Then she crawled over and said "Daddy!" To greet Jeremy for the day. It was so sweet, my heart melted.
  • She has been sleeping through the night more often lately, but occasionally still wakes up between 12-3 to nurse. She also wakes up at like 5 AM sometimes. She goes to bed at 7 PM and still takes a nap between 12:30-3 everyday.
  • She loves her fawn stuffed animal, she sleeps with it for naps and bed and likes to carry it around the house.
  • She still loves music and dancing! While we drink our breakfast smoothie every morning I turn music on and she dances while she drinks hers.
  • She nurses in the morning when she wakes up, she nurses before her nap, she nurses before bed, and sometimes she nurses once in the night.
  • She has been very attached to me lately, she sometimes cries if I leave the room, but usually it's just that when I come back in the room, or pick her up from nursery, or she's been busy playing and then sees me, she runs to me saying, "Mommy! Mommy! Mommy!" And throws her little arms around my neck and presses her cheek to mine, then she puts her tiny hands on my cheeks and gives me kisses and snuggles. It warms my entire heart and soul.
21 months:
  • Climbs out of her pack n' play/crib constantly, after I've laid her down for naps or bed. I have to stand outside the door and tell her to lay down over and over until she falls asleep or she will just get out and leave the room.
  • She licks me to show me love lately, haha.
  • She loves to kiss her "babies" when she carries them around, or lays down for a nap or bed. She also holds them up to my lips for me to kiss them.
  • She loves to kiss Daddy when she FaceTimes with him, she also presses here little cheek against the phone to cuddle him and let him kiss her.
  • When she gets hurt she comes to me for a kiss, then she's just fine, haha. The other day she was playing with a toy and it pinched her pretty bad and it hurt and she just pressed her little fingers on my lips while I kissed it like 25 times. Then every few minutes after that she'd come back for another kiss on it and leave until she needed another kiss. It was sweet.
  • She repeats her prayers after me, it's so cute. She also repeats scriptures at family study in the mornings and it's adorable.
  • She sings all the time! She watches Mother Goose Club Nursery Rhymes in the mornings in bed with me and that's where she's learning all of the songs. I recorded her singing Baby Shark in bed a few nights ago, lol. She also can sing almost the entire Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star and others. It's so sweet to hear how she can actually sing the tunes of these songs at 21 months!
  • She says "oohhh, sweet!" When she sees something cute or holds her babies.
  • Whenever she's in her carseat she thinks she's stuck and gets super upset. Especially on these long drives we've had recently. She yells, "stuck! stuck!" While she pulls at the straps and wiggles uncomfortably. She also yells, "get OUT! get OUT!" And then Ander yells back at her "STOP!!" And then repeat that for an hour. Yeah, it's super fun to drive in the car lately.
22-23 months:

  • She got to sleep in a real crib finally! We moved into our house in Montana and set up her crib and she loves it. She can still climb out, but Grandpa Brown turned it into a toddler bed so she can get back in. She has really been fighting sleep lately, fussing if we leave the room before she's asleep. She loves Daddy to come and rock her after I nurse her and he can usually get her to bed just fine.
  • Jeremy got home after being away for over 2 months and she knew him and was instantly attached to him. No issue there, haha. While he was away he would call in the evenings to say goodnight to the kids, she would cuddle the phone to her cheek during FaceTime when they were talking and Jeremy would kiss and she smiled and loved it, like he was really kissing her sweet little cheeks. She would kiss the phone, too, like she was kissing him. It was adorable. She would also hold up her Fuzzy for him to kiss.
  • She talks and communicates amazingly well. It takes me off guard sometimes because I think she's still a baby and then she speaks an entire sentence and it's wild. The other day she woke up really grumpy and just wanted me to hold her, I tried to get her to play with Ander in the playroom and said, "Look! Ander is playing, why don't you go play with him?" And she gave me the most adorable scowl and mumbled out all grumpy and pouty, "Don't want it pay Baby." She calls Ander "Baby," I think because she hears us call him baby, it's so cute. Then I asked if she wanted to play with toys and she did the same thing and said, "Don't want it pay toys." Then just yesterday we were having cashews for snack and she was loving them, then she decided she was done and when I offered her another, with the same pouty face she responded, "don't like it cash-ews." She says many other sentences and words, too, she can say everything she needs to to communicate with us without really getting frustrated.
  • She is a sweet, happy girl. She is a light and so full of joy. One example I want to write down is when Ander was sad one day and crying on the floor. Roz got on her belly and elbows in front of him, her face close to his, and said, "whas wrong, Baby? Whas wrong?" I can still hear the sweet tones of her voice, it was just so innocent and sweet, and she does things like that all the time. She's pretty much in charge when it comes to her brothers, and she has been so good for them to learn how to treat a little lady, but she is also so sweet to them, too. I am grateful.
  • She has gotten quite picky, lately. She doesn't consistently have "favorite" foods, it's just whatever she feels like that day. A few foods she will usually eat are grilled cheese, zbars, waffles, Annies noodles, scrambled eggs, grapes, blueberries, strawberries, watermelon, and peanut butter & honey sandwiches. Sometimes she will eat cereal, smoothie, avocado, rice, bananas, melon, toast, cherries, and yogurt. And she will NOT eat tortillas in any way (tacos, burritos, quesadillas), peppers, and she hasn't been loving soups lately.
  • She has started sleeping through the night, finally. I was determined to not do any cry-it-out because I felt like it would come naturally, and it HAS. Did it take longer? Yes. But it feels so much better and I think it's healthier. She occasionally wakes up around 3-5 AM to nurse and then goes back to sleep, but in the past few weeks that has only been when she wasn't feeling good (she had a cold and teething). She goes to sleep between 7-8 PM and wakes up between 5-630 AM, usually. She nurses before nap time and bed time still.
  • Her 24 month clothes are getting too small! I am in denial.
  • She has been going to nursery for about five months now, she started going just fine when we lived in Hurricane (she would actually run down the hall and into the nursery class, no fussing at all). After we moved she started crying when I tried to drop her off, so now I go to class with her and Ander for about 15 minutes, until they settle in and get busy, and then I leave and she has been just fine.
  • She LOVES to read books. We will sit next to the books and read before bed and she will just keep grabbing book after book saying, "nother one!" She sits so still and listens so good to the stories.
Pictures from 23-26 months:

These two little ones love getting their blankets and cuddling, either in Roz's tiny bed or Ander in his bed and Roz in Beckham's, it's so cute.

Wearing one of my outfits! :)

Putting on Ander's boots! She loves boots!

Her first tiny ponytail! Her natural curl makes her ponytails and pigtails so adorable.

Watching a show and cuddling all her fuzzy's. :)

Eating a snack before bed. :)

After naps. :) She's so sweet.
Her scooter tipped over and she fell like this and just laid there. Like she was just done. Haha. Jeremy finally had to go out and pick her up, lol.

Pigtail buns! :)

Baby sleep is the sweetest. Look how she cuddles her Fuzzy. She sleeps with her fuzzy next to her cheek every night. :)

After naps. :)

She LOVES tiny things, including my tiny plant. She was touching it so gentle and speaking in her tiniest little voice and saying, "it's so cuuutttee!"

She crawled in our bed and cuddled while I folded laundry. :)

She loves playing with Captain!

Blowout! She loves having her hair blow dried. :)

Her and Ander and Benson made a HUGE mess with some packing foam pieces. :l

That ponytail, though.

Tucking her baby in. :)

Another after-bath blow out!

I love how she's holding my shirt and cuddling so sweet. :)

24-26 months:
  • She calls me "Honey" when she needs me, lately, haha. She calls Ander "Baby" still, so even when she's upset she'll say something like, "Baby took it!" And I know exactly who she's talking about. They are cute together.
  • Ander let her out of her room at nap time one day and they snuck into the playroom together, two babies, to play. I heard their little footsteps running around and walked up the stairs, smiling, but trying to get a more serious face on before I walked into the room. Just before I got there I heard Ander whisper loudly, "Hide, Roz!" So they ran and hid together behind one of the pink chairs next to the bookshelf. I walked into the room and they were SO quiet, I was super impressed. I called out, "babies?" And Ander pops up from behind the chair, "yes?!" Haha! Roz stayed hidden and quiet, so I pretended to look for her and then I found her hiding so quiet! It was so funny, they are adorable.
  • She hates pooping, I think she's afraid of it, but she also hates it being on her and feeling dirty. After she goes, she just stands there and won't move until I pick her up and get her clean.
  • She LOVES to sing along to Mother Goose Club songs still, that's her favorite show to watch and she sings and dances and does the little movements with the characters, it's so adorable.
  • She sings alllll the time. She will be playing or walking around the house and just singing her little songs and it's so cute. On Sunday I heard her singing "eyes, ears, mouth, and nose" as she pointed to each of them. Her tiny, sweet voice is adorable.
  • She loves her milk! She still nurses before her nap around noon, before bed around 7 PM, and in the early morning hours or when she wakes up for the day. She says, "want milk," or, "milk, Mommy!" I usually lay down in her crib (we took the side off to make it a toddler bed) and we cuddle while she nurses, then we say her prayers, I trace her face and I give her a sweet hug and say goodnight and she gives me a little wave and says "goo-night, Mommy."
  • When I whisper "I love you" to her, she whispers it back to me, "I yuv you, Mommy," or when Jeremy says it, "I yuv you, Daddy." It's so sweet. She'll put her tiny hand on our cheek and rub it so soft, too.
  • After we put her to bed, she comes to the door and peeks out of the crack (we have a Door Monkey on her door because she doesn't stay in her bed and we don't want her wandering the house at night, haha). I kneel down outside her door and kiss her little fingers and tell her it's okay and that she can go get in her cozy bed with her baby and her blanket, sometimes she stands there still and I have to reassure her a few more times, but then she'll nod and sweetly walk back to her bed and go to sleep.
  • She's so girly! She does these sweet little girly things that we just love. She loves to lay on her belly and play with toys with her feet kicking behind her. She also holds her hand up all girly by her face, in the air, when she takes a bite of food and chews. The way she sings, the way she walks, plays, talks, cuddles, just everything, is so girly and it is absolutely adorable. It melts our hearts.
  • She loves her binky still, I've been trying to put them away and use them just for sleeping, but she finds them everywhere and sometimes carries two around!
  • Her favorite stuffed animal is here "Fuzzy," that we also call, "Baby." She likes it just a certain way so she can lay her cheek on it's soft face and go to sleep. It's so cute.
  • She comes to our bed in the morning to nurse and watch Mother Goose Club while we get a little more sleep in the mornings and brings her Fuzzy, too, so I always find her cute little stuffed animal in our bed and it makes me smile.
  • Her hair is getting super long and she has the most gorgeous natural curls! Her hair was pretty blond last year, but it's turning more of a honey color, now. We started doing high buns and ponytails last month and they look SO cute. We also do pigtails a lot, they are so cute and her hair makes these sweet ringlets naturally. Her hair does get quite messy throughout the day with all her playing, but it's so cute.
  • She loves to get her own yogurt from the fridge after dinner every night, and then she carries it to the table. It's cute.
  • She talks and communicates like a pro. She likes to point at things a lot, and then she just sweetly nods when we ask her if that's what she meant and give it to her, but she also can talk and ask for things and show me things. She really loves to say "pay wif me, Mommy!" As she gets ready to play on the floor, or, "sit down wif me, Mommy!" In her girly little voice. She's so cute.
Birthday pictures!! We celebrated her birthday at home on her actual birthday, then celebrated hers, Jeremy's, and Grandpa Brown's birthdays over General Conference weekend when we all met up at Wolf Creek. She got a play kitchen, baby doll crib, a little backpack with two bottles, a baby doll bib and blanket, a new series of unicorn books, and a My Little Pet Shop toy that she loves. To go along with her "Two Sweet" theme we had doughnuts with sprinkles. :)
