Benson is 11 months!!
This post is a little late, as usual. But he turned 11 months on
February 21st!
This picture was purely because I want to be able to always look at those tasty thighs. And he also loves to look out the window, all the time. lol. I love him.
- He is nursing 3-4 times per day still, and goes to bed between 7-8 PM. He takes two naps per day, sometimes only one. His morning nap is always his longest, usually around 2.5-3 hours. His afternoon naps are usually only 1.5-2 hours.
- He LOVES to clap while I say "Yay!!" He still loves pushing anything and everything around the house.
- All of his 12 month clothes are getting super short on him!
- He tries to get into the dog food, literally, every day!! But Captain LOVES him and follows him around all day as he plays. I love it.
- I used to be able to put him in an laundry basket with toys while I took a shower and he would play and stay contained in there, but he can now tip the basket over and crawl out!
- He loves pears, prunes, apples, english muffins, Cheerios, vanilla greek yogurt, cooked carrots, potatoes and celery (chicken noodle soup/beef stew), and bananas.
- He still only has his two front bottom teeth, the top ones and the ones on either side of his two bottom teeth seem to get swollen and then go down over and over again.
- He has been standing so well and has taken a few steps! He just knows that crawling is way faster at this point and always drops down to his hands and knees to get going.
- He can say "moo" which sounds like, "mmmmmmmmmmm" when I say, "what does a cow say?" ha ha. He has also been saying "uh-uh," like when I say no. He says it all the time now, lol.
- He LOVES his baths still.
- He has gotten into the toilet twice now. :l And loves to tear toilet paper off the roll (which is my reason for using a laundry basket during my showers).
- He was sleeping part of the night in his crib and part of the night in our bed until about ten months, then I started trying to get him to sleep in his crib all night, but I ended up in there on the floor with my hand through the crib slats to get him to stay there. I don't like cry it out at all. So, he was waking up for like two hours a night for a few months in a row and I just got so SO tired. He would nurse, and then just want to play or I would rock him for forever and he would just be looking around, chilling. About the exact time he turned 11 months I had the thought come to me that I needed to leave his room, that he wasn't sleeping because of me, he wanted to play. So I gave him a kiss and walked out. He cried for a little while, and I just stared at our video baby monitor until he went to sleep, but he finally settled down and went to sleep and slept the rest of the night. The next night he slept 10 hours straight, and since then has been sleeping an average of about 9 hours straight every night. He is still trying to get up around 4 AM these past few days, but I think part of that is teething. Anyway, it has been such a blessing for him to sleep better for all of us. I am very grateful and I hope he continues to sleep good. :) My other boys didn't sleep through the night until 18 months! So, yes, I am very grateful and very surprised.
- I have been able to lay him down while he's sleepy but awake since he was pretty little, sometimes he would cry and I would go settle him down, but I can now put him in his bed fully awake and he will go to sleep.
It was so hard to get any pictures this month!! He was SO wiggly and silly that afternoon.
