Aquarium! :)

My neighbor and friend, Amanda, and I have been wanting to take Bridger and Capri to the Aquarium for forever! Since all this crazy stuff has been going on, we decided it would be a perfect time to get out and have fun with these two cuties. :) I think it was really good for all of us to get out and just chill, I loved it.

Amanda and Capri came and ate breakfast with us at our hotel in the morning, Bridger was quite surprised to wake up to Capri! After breakfast we went to the Aquarium for a couple hours, then we made a trip to Costco, and had lunch back at the hotel while they played for a little bit. The day went SO fast, and Bridger and Capri absolutely loved the Aquarium! Costco wasn't such a big party for them, mostly just for me and Amanda...but even though they were tired and hungry, they did great all day. :)

I love that they love each other. :)

I tried to get lots of pictures, but they are both two...ha ha. And they are both so serious in all of them! Little stinkers.

This was their favorite part!

They were crawling through this tunnel over and over again until we had to leave, they had a blast!

We were back at our house today and we planned on eating lunch in the car but I forgot a knife for our pb&j, so I left Bridger in the car across the street and knocked on Amanda's door to ask her if I could borrow one...I could see Bridger looking completely distraught in the car as he watched me go inside without him...he KNOWS it's Capri's house, ha ha. Poor kid. He started crying. Amanda told us we could eat inside her house so we wouldn't have to eat in the car, so Jeremy grabbed Bridger and started carrying him toward the house, you should have seen his little face! baha. His eyebrows were so high, and he was almost hyperventilating because he was so excited, he had the biggest smile on his face! He is so stinkin' cute. When Bridger and Capri saw each other they started laughing and screaming and smiling (like they always do), then ran around like crazy and played for awhile. I'm so grateful to have awesome neighbors to hang out with, and besides that, they have helped us out SO much during all of this! I was telling Jeremy today that I don't know what we would do without them, Bridger just loves it over there. :)

Next places on the list for us: the zoo, swimming, possibly the discovery museum?, seven peaks...and... I'm sure we will think of other places to add. :)

We'll see. :)

Progress... :)

Here is another little update on our house with some pictures of what it looks like as of today. :) We went over this morning and helped pack up the rest of the bedrooms with the help of the mitigation company, they also tore out all the carpet and hauled it down to the basement for us to possibly use for later (if we ever want to finish a room down there, since the carpet is perfectly fine). The tile in the entryway and kitchen was laid a couple days ago, and they just finished the grout today! We really love how it turned out. We ordered carpet yesterday, it takes about seven days to get here, but we were told it should be in the house by next Thursday. I hope! :)

Here are some pictures, I wanted to get them before the tile was laid and the walls were fixed, but I didn't get a chance...

Here is the view from the front door. :) All the baseboards are still gone, as well as the molding around the doorways, it all still needs to be painted too.

This is our living room.

Bridger's room...

And our master...

Our kitchen, the tile is still covered in this grey layer of stuff from putting the grout in, but this is our work in progress. :)

Pretty crazy, huh? Our little house feels like a shell right now! We've been working with some awesome people, though, and we are so grateful. Along with that, so far, our insurance has been SO awesome, which has really surprised me. We just had a linoleum floor in our kitchen before and expected them to give us around $4 sq. ft. to replace it, we realized that since we chose tile we would be paying out of pocket for about half of it since it's more expensive...instead, they gave us $7.78 sq. ft, which is almost double and almost took care of putting in tile altogether! I almost cried. They also gave us an awesome price on our carpet. We are just really grateful.

Today we found a small (ok, not so small) problem. We were told that they were going to try to match the upper cabinets so we could keep them, if they couldn't find a match we would be getting all new cabinets...well, the cabinets that we were told would "match" showed up today and as soon as I took the cardboard off the front I knew it wasn't the same. The cabinet on the right in the picture below is the new one, the left cupboard door is what is already in our kitchen...ours are more honey colored/yellow, these cabinets have more orange/brown in them. We called the contractor and he told us that ours had probably just yellowed over time and that these ones would too.

Um...no.

Anyway...we should know by Monday what the options are, or what will be happening with that.

Left is what we have-Right is the new

Hopefully we can live in our house again in a couple of weeks, this cabinet issue might make it take longer, we aren't sure...but hopefully we can get it worked out fast! :)

Update. :)

Our house finally dried. Yes, it's true. Well, the basement might be a little wet still, I'm not sure. Let's just pretend it's dry.

Our entire hvac system got pulled out and replaced yesterday, one more step closer to being able to go home...

And I heard this morning that our house just might be finished in two weeks. :) yes!

So, in my last post I mentioned I was nervous about the insurance guy coming to look at our house. Basically, they come in and say what they think got ruined enough to replace and I had heard some not-so-positive stories about these guys. I was so scared! I prayed. a lot. And guess what? The guy that showed up was seriously THE nicest guy ever! Holy cow. He even gave us extra allowance on carpet to make up for the entry way and went above and beyond his job and looked into our policy for us on a misunderstanding...then called me back two more times (that is definitely not in their job description). Oh my gosh. I am so grateful. He is awesome. Tim said he is the best insurance guy he has ever worked with...so, that's saying something. :) I know it was Heavenly Father helping us out. We are still waiting on the samples they took of our flooring to see how much they will cover...

For the next week we are staying in an extended stay hotel in Sandy that our insurance set us up in...I'm kicking myself for not having them do this for us last week! We really appreciated our family members opening their homes to us, but it was hard to keep packing and unpacking everything with how much stuff we have. The hotel they booked for us is like way over what I would have chosen. It has a full kitchen and two bedrooms, so I can cook and Bridger can still take his naps, and there's complementary breakfast! whoo! ha ha. The only reason I hesitated having them book it is because I thought they might book a crappy place with like...bugs or something...when we saw the place we would be staying we were so surprised. And so grateful. I hope we can like it here for the next little while. :)

You know that feeling when there are so many decisions...you can't make any? ha ha. An indecisive person's nightmare. geez. The insurance will only cover "line of sight" replacements...so our living room carpet had to be taken out which meant they would cover the stairs and the upstairs hallway, but not the bedrooms upstairs. So, unless we want to pay out of pocket, the carpet will most likely be different. I'm still not sure what to do about that. I know it would bug me, but I can't decide if it's worth the money and effort. We'll see.

All these decisions are hard! geez. This carpet thing is way too stressful. I just don't know if it's worth it or not. :s We are meeting our contractor at Lowe's tonight to buy all the tile, and we chose a granite counter top...I hope it looks ok. It is SO hard to visualize how it will look when it's all done!

I need a professional decision maker that knows exactly what I want. Any volunteers??? :)
