Ok, I am sure there are people wondering what is going on with our little house and family! If you haven't heard already, our house flooded really bad. We left Saturday morning to go test drive some cars and ended up being gone for twelve hours, so from 8 am-8:30 pm. We were so tired, ornery, and exhausted and stressed. The day had already been ridiculously long and crazy, Bridger hadn't eaten anything but Doritos and Fruit Loops and hadn't had a diaper change or a nap all day, and Jeremy had homework to do still. We had been trying to get out of the stinkin' dealership for a few hours. They finally told us to take the car home that we had been looking at with the understanding that if we didn't want it, we had until Monday to bring it back or it would be ours. SO. We were like, whatever! Let's get out of here! So we left our RAV there and drove home this brand new car.
Well.
About two minutes away from our house I was like, "Jeremy. The garage door opener is in the RAV." And then it clicked that our keys were too, so we had no way to get into our house! GAH. Jeremy called a friend of ours begging him to have a house key we left with him over a year ago, and I was praying my little heart out. Guess what? He did. Whoo hoo! So I dropped Jeremy off in front and he walked through the house to open the garage for me...as soon as I pulled in I knew something was terribly TERRIBLY HORRIBLY wrong. You know how in a garage, the cement meets drywall a few feet up? Well, at that crack there was a waterfall of water coming out, and the car lights were just reflecting off of it. I started panicking, hoping it was just the laundry room...maybe the washer did something? Jeremy was so mad, he wouldn't tell me what happened, so I grabbed Bridge from his carseat and ran inside to see that our kitchen, laundry room, and half bath were filled with standing water, probably about a half inch. I couldn't believe it. Then I walked into the living room on squishy carpet and set Bridger on the couch before I heard something like another larger waterfall in the basement. Water was literally POURING from the basement ceiling, insulation was falling from the ceiling and everything was drenched. I was horrified. Our kitchen floor was squishing when Jeremy bounced on it and I thought it was going to fall through. Needless to say. I freaked. I called my dad practically crying and asked him what we were supposed to do, I felt like our house was drowning in an ocean. I had a feeling this was too big of a mess for us to handle on our own.
I ended up calling Tim Graham, the second counselor in our bishopric, who actually works for a disaster company. He had someone there within 15 minutes and then called in the elder's quorum to start moving things from the basement to the garage. While this was happening (at like 10 at night) I fed Bridger a peanut butter and jelly sandwich and Jeremy had to take a test for school upstairs. SO many people showed up to help and we are so grateful for all the help, it was so overwhelming.
I was under the understanding that Tim probably sees this kind of stuff all the time, and when I told him that, he was like "....no, this is probably the worst flood in the last year and a half..." Then I realized how bad it would really probably be.
Oh, and do you want to know what started all of this? We have a half bath on our main floor...a small tube disconnected beneath the vanity and was spraying water. And we were gone for twelve hours, pretty crazy, huh? Something so small...I'm afraid to see our utility bill after all this...SO so so so many gallons of water...hopefully homeowner's will cover that.
Around midnight they sliced holes in our hvac system and water started pouring it out...it poured for around twenty minutes. So...our heater didn't work that night. It was a chilly 58 degrees all night. :) The next morning we packed and tried to get some sense of our lives under control. Before we left we were told that our entire kitchen, laundry room, and bathroom would have to be gutted as well as our entire hvac system. Cabinets, floors and all. We watched them tear out the baseboards and they had to cut up two feet on the wall throughout all the rooms and put fans in there to dry it all out. Anyway, we left around 1:30 on Sunday and grabbed some lunch at Del Taco and let Bridger play on the jungle gym for awhile. Then we drove to Jeremy's uncles house in South Jordan and stayed there for the night.
I headed back to our house Monday afternoon after I got our RAV back (we were so glad! ha ha) and dealt with insurance stuff and learned that the carpet will probably have to be replaced as well, so our entire living room got moved out to a storage pod in front of our house. If they can't find carpet to match exactly they will recarpet our entire house. Same goes for cabinets, if they can't find the exact cabinets, all of our cabinets will be replaced (upper and lower). I go back Wednesday to go through everything in the basement that got ruined and meet with the insurance guy.
I haven't been handling it all that great I don't feel like. We can't live in our house for 3-4 weeks. The insurance will pay for a hotel which we might end up doing next week. This week we are staying in South Jordan, probably until Thursday or Friday, then Jeremy has drill for three days and my brother is going down to Hurricane. Hurricane is where I REALLY want to be, but Jeremy couldn't be there and I'm not sure when they will need me at our house, so I can't stay there for the whole time. If there was a place for us to call home besides our very own house it would be Hurricane, at my parent's house. I just really need some stress relief at this point. ha ha.
All three of us got sick in the past three days, we haven't been sleeping well (restless legs, being sick, different house, stress etc), our house is gutted, and I have a few other things that were weighing on my mind before all this happened. I know I need to be careful because I want our little baby to be safe and this much stress is definitely not healthy...pregnant or not, ha ha. I almost start crying every five minutes, which is not normal for me, I feel like everything is crazy and my comfort and security bubble got completely burst. We aren't even eating healthy. Tears are coming again so I better stop, ha ha.
There's not much anyone, even us, can do at this point. We just have to wait until they can get our house put back together and hopefully our homeowner's will pay for everything. :) At least it will be all nice and clean and new and organized before our baby comes, ha ha. Well, hopefully. And hopefully our furniture makes it ok getting moved around and everything.
Thank you for all the concern from everyone!! We have definitely felt the love these past few days. We have had multiple offers of extra bedrooms, dinners, babysitting, and just general questions of asking if we need help. We have the best family, friends, neighbors, and ward members we could ever ask for. Seriously. That makes me cry too. Actually. It's been such a blessing to know people care.
Even with everything that has been going on I feel the Spirit with us, and even though it's hard I know He is helping us, and I am so grateful.
This was so long. But I will keep everyone updated the best I can. I'm a little nervous about the insurance guy looking at our house on Wednesday, hopefully it goes good. :)
Thanks again, everyone. :)

Family Pictures & 25 Weeks. :)
As of yesterday I am 25 weeks! :)
We had an ultrasound at 20 weeks, the only one we plan on doing, and our baby was measuring right about at our due date, June 5th. :) It was so fun and we got some cute pictures but I like the DVD better. :) Up until about 18 weeks I had gained only about 3 lbs...and that was at my appointment right after Christmas vacation, ha ha, so I was way surprised. I had my last appointment at about 23 weeks...I went to weigh myself and when I saw how much I had gained I kind of freaked out! baha. In just four weeks I had gained 9 lbs! I was assured that since I hadn't gained much up to that point it was perfectly fine, but I think it's just hard for me to remember that you NEED to gain weight when you are pregnant, ha ha. I don't remember ever gaining nine pounds in a month with Bridger...I wanted to put up the ultrasound pictures BUT our printer wouldn't scan. So, maybe later. :)
Here's a pic of me at 21 weeks...
And here's me at 25 weeks...
My shirt actually fits now...
I have now been working out almost everyday for the past month and a half, I bought a new pregnancy workout DVD and it rocks...and it's pretty intense but I love it. :) After I workout, Bridger and I have a chocolate protein shake with almond milk and frozen strawberries in it, then sometimes we'll eat a few eggs. It's pretty fun. :) I'm not sure if it's good for him to be drinking Muscle Milk with me since he's so little, so I just give him a tiny cup and a straw and he has a blast. He's going to be my buff little dude. I love him.

I haven't really been pushing Bridger to understand that there is a baby in my belly, I feel like if he is ready to understand it, he will. He thinks I'm crazy when I try to get him to feel our baby's movements, ha ha. This morning we were cuddling in our bed and I put my hand on my belly and said "our baby is in here...this is our baby." He looked at my belly kinda weird, then looked at me and said, "ball." And then patted it like I did, then ran away.
Ha ha.
He is so cute. :) Adorable little two year old logic. Ok, maybe adorable little two year old BOY logic. Of course he would call it a ball. :) baha. I couldn't stop laughing.
Oh yeah!! And we got some family pictures done last month. :) Well, it was really two year old pics for Bridger, but Rachel Pemberton was able to get a few cute family pics in too. She advertised a "mini" session and I must say it was the most brilliant idea EVER. We only took pics for about 20-30 minutes, which was perfect for Bridger and we still got tons of cute ones. Plus, she only charged us $45. She's awesome. :)
Here are a few...
I really am so happy with how the whole session turned out, Rachel did such a great job...she captured Bridger's personality perfect. I now think that every photographer should offer mini sessions! ha ha. It was awesome.

(Totally looks like his dad in this picture...look at those little eyebrows...ha ha I love it.)

Here are some random pics from the last month. :)
Can you tell what his favorite lunch is??? I did NOT help him do that. He carted those around in his little wheelbarrow like they were treasure. ha ha. :)
Lately he has become quite the vacuum stealer. Anytime I pull it out he immediately runs over to take it...I'm ok with that...hopefully he will love his chores even when he's older...
Another new thing...he picks up anything with words on it (textbooks, notebooks etc) and then reads them to me. :) ha ha. My little nerd.
He also LOVES playing blocks with his daddy! :) I love that Jeremy loves to play with his boy, they have so much fun together and it's so cute.

Valentine's Day. :)
I say this every year, but I really love Valentine's Day...it's like a half-year anniversary for us. :) This year Jeremy had to work, but we had fun anyway. I had no idea what to do...I did a really cute scavenger hunt last year and I didn't really want to do a repeat so I kept looking and looking. FINALLY, I decided that I was going to make a CD for him with some...uhh...let's just say...romance songs, ha ha. Those kind of songs are kind of a little joke between the two of us, so I knew he'd love it. The night before V-Day I put it in his CD player and turned the volume up so he'd get a nice idea of my plans for the day. :) bahaha. He got up at five that morning and left, I was trying to act all tired and out of it like I usually am, but I was too excited. When I heard his car start I just busted up laughing and I wanted to call him...my favorite part of surprises is seeing the person's face...BUT I resisted and let him listen. I called him later and he said he was just laughing, he was totally surprised.
I tried to think about what I could do for Bridger...and I remembered play dough!! He loves that stuff. :)

I love that he has always crossed his little feet like this.
That morning I took Bridger over to give Capri her Valentine, she had one for him too, they were both SO excited to see each other. I love it. :) ha ha. They got to play for about an hour and had a blast, they just love each other.
That's Capri's Valentine and the other one is mine...or so I thought...
Then, I put together a little box with a bunch of red candy in it with a little note that said "You Are RED HOT!" We stopped by for a little surprise visit at his work. :) Bridge loves going to see daddy at work. We can't go inside because, obviously, Bridge and I don't have security clearances, ha ha. But he stares at the front doors waiting for him to come out, and when he does he starts laughing and yelling "dad, dad!" It's cute. So, Jeremy took a break with us, when we were getting ready to leave he put his present in his car...he was too embarrassed to take it inside, ha ha. I love doing things like that to him, he's so cute when he's shy. :)
When Jeremy got home from work I had a really simple scavenger hunt that I put together in like five minutes on some hearts I cut out to lead him to his "big" present. :) I had been waiting for like three weeks to give it to him! ah. So. He got home and followed the clues, I recorded the very last one which took him down to the basement...he was starting to get frustrated because I purposely made it really vague, he had no idea where to look. So I pointed him to a corner and started saying "hot" or "cold." He found it so fast after that. I had hidden his present in our Christmas tree box. :) It was the only place it would fit. When he saw it he couldn't believe it, he was like "are you serious??! How did you buy this???! Oh my gosh!" He was freaking out. :) I got him a Ruger 30-06 rifle and some ammo. He's been wanting one...so yeah. I splurged a little. A LOT. :s But he loved it. He just wanted to keep staring at it, he was like a little boy at Christmas, ha ha.
One of my clues. :)
The search...
More of the search...
And finally...
He found it!!
Little boy at Christmas, right? ha ha.
After I bought that (very sneakily I might say) we didn't have any money left over, I take care of the finances, so I just told him that V-Day would have to be small (I felt kinda bad that I took all the money, ha ha, but I don't think he minded after he saw what I spent it on.) My cutie butt husband got creative anyway. :) The night before, I had a relief society activity and while I was gone, him and Bridger made a homemade chocolate heart for me and wrapped it in saran wrap...before he left for work in the morning he left it on the table with a whole bunch of tiny paper hearts cut out, I almost cried because it was so cute. :) I love my boys. They are so sweet. :) He also bought me THREE Symphony bars (my favorite chocolate of all time) and made these homemade paper wrappers that said "Dr. J's Love Bars" ha ha. One said it was for breakfast, one for lunch and one for dinner. :) He knows me so well, ha ha.
I went and got a Hot-N-Ready for dinner to keep things simple, then we played with Bridge for awhile before putting him to bed, and that's when Bridge finally got his little Valentine, which he loved! I think it was kind of a party for him because we don't usually just give him candy...he was done after two chocolates ha ha.
Jeremy did a little homework while I finished something up and then it was my next surprise! I had printed out a love memory game that had cards like..."break open the sparkling cider," "give your spouse a 3 minute massage..." things like that, I printed that game off the Dating Diva's website and it turned out so fun. :) I love that site, it's the bomb.
Anyway, we had a blast! Even if I hadn't bought Jeremy a gun, we both would have loved our Valentine's Day...for the whole day, including dinner, I only spent like $20 (which is awesome!), and it was perfect...he really didn't expect such a huge gift but it was just a bonus. :) I love to give surprises, I love to get surprises, and I love Valentine's Day. :) I hope everyone was able to feel loved, whether by their spouses, family members, or friends. Happy Valentine's! (late, but it still counts). :)
My boys homemade chocolate heart. :)
