20 weeks!! And it's a... :)

I'm 20 weeks today!! :)

We had our ultrasound about a week ago...

and...

we found out we are having a GIRL!! :)

To tell the boys we are having a girl we came home with our ultrasound pictures, they sat on the couch and we showed them a picture of an arm, and then a leg, and then the spine, and then the last one that says "GIRL POWER!" And they kind of sat there for a minute, and I showed them the picture up close, Beckham said "wwhhhoooaaaa." And Bridger's eyes got huge, then he said, "I knew it!!" He also mentioned to Grandma right after that, "now we are going to have to watch girl shows." LOLOL.

We are very happy, and very grateful, and also very surprised and still processing it. :) Jeremy said he would believe it when our baby is born, LOL. We already love this little one so much! Her heartbeat was 161 bpm on the ultrasound and she was curled up really good, so the ultrasound lady had to work to get some of the measurements, but here are some pictures!

Arm. :)

Leg. :)

Face. :)

Spine. :)

It's a girl!! :)

I had another midwife appointment today and my belly measurement is right at 20 weeks. :) This little one's heartbeat was 144-153, and we heard lot's of little kicks on the doppler, lol. I have gained about five pounds so far. :)
  • I've been doing my Jillian Michaels workout four times per week, and walking 2-3 miles on the River Trail 2-3 times per week. I did move down a "level" on Jillian Michaels when I got into the second trimester, I just change it up depending on how I feel.
  • I haven't craved anything super crazy the last few weeks, I really like my oats at night, I call it chocolate oatmeal, lol. I also really like the Tillamook raspberry flavor yogurt. I have also been really wanting cinnamon toast with my egg in the morning, which I've never really wanted, lol, I've never thought it's disgusting, but I just didn't prefer it, and now I love it.
  • I have been drinking a protein smoothie for breakfast every morning, and the last week I've tried to get in at least one egg in the morning. For a snack at night I usually have "overnight" oats. I was really loving grapefruit, but they aren't in season now and are SO sour, I still try to eat one a few times per week.
  • I'm still taking all my Plexus vitamins and the omega supplement. :)
  • Jeremy has felt some pretty good little kicks now!
  • I have started wearing maternity pants for real now, lol, and because I usually wear looser shirts than I took my 20 week picture in, people are just barely learning that I'm pregnant, lol.
  • I have a water bottle that tracks how much I drink, and I usually get between 80-90 ounces a day, it helps so much to be able to keep track!

Commission!! :)

Fifteen months ago, a few months before Jeremy started the master's program he is in, he got his packet in to be an officer in the Chaplain Candidate Program. Usually, it should take about 3-9 months for the packet to go through and to be commissioned as an officer. For different reasons the process took 15 months!! A few times it got clear to QC and then got kicked back, mostly because stuff kept going out of date because they were taking so long, it got really frustrating and we got to the point where we decided to just leave it in God's hands, if he wanted Jeremy in the CCP He would help make it happen. Finally, in April, Jeremy's packet went through and they passed it. FEDREC boards were scheduled for this last Wednesday, May 8th. We prayed that it would go smoothly and he would pass those as well, and he did!! We had a ceremony where some of our friends and supporters came to see Jeremy be sworn in, I posted pictures below, and then we served everyone who came doughnuts and milk and chatted for awhile. After, we went to lunch at Olive Garden with Steve to celebrate some more and catch up. I am so proud of Jeremy for all of his hard work, his continuing hard work, and seeing him achieve this goal we have been working toward for over two years. You only commission once, lol. Now that we've reached this step, we can continue moving forward and we are so grateful. :)

Those who came to support: Our family (of course), LTC Steve Jarvis, retired COL Vance Theodore (Jeremy's advisor at BYU over the Chaplain program), LTC Gene Whitmore (who has been absolutely awesome through this process), SPC Delbert Young and his wife, 2LT Anthony Moya (another friend from BYU), LTC Williams and his wife (LTC Williams was Jeremy's 6th grade teacher and now works at Draper headquarters, where the ceremony was held), COL Gerald White (State Chaplain for Utah, and Jeremy's now supervisor), and SFC Jeremy Dimond (from the officer recruiting branch who helped Jeremy get his paperwork through).

Jeremy asked his Dad to swear him in, which his Dad was very honored to do. :)

Jeremy asked me to remove his Staff Sergeant patch and "punch" his 2LT patch on. I am so grateful he thought to give me that honor, it was a special moment after the hard work we've put in to get here together. :)

I ripped off the patch and put the 2LT patch on, and instead of punching him just did a couple of hard pats, lol. He stepped back like I was that strong, but I think he was just being nice, lolol.

Jeremy's first salute from a lower rank, that is one of his good friends in his cohort, Delbert Young, who is also waiting to commission soon.

Say hello to 2LT Jarvis!! :)

Family Pictures!! :)

Grandma and Grandpa Brown gave family pictures as our Easter gift this year, and we are so grateful because we have been needing them! :) We went to a nature park in St. George and even though it was pretty hot, it was nice enough in the shade that we didn't get too sweaty, lol. It was a little difficult to keep the boys focused when it was their turn, with the distractions of sticks, dirt, a duck pond, a dirt path and forest everywhere, but I love how they turned out and I love having updated family pictures!

Benson, 3 years.

Anderson, 1 year.

Beckham, 6 years.

Bridger, 8 years.

Me, 29 years (17 weeks, 5 days pregnant baby #5). Jeremy, 32 years.

I asked for some extra one year photos of Anderson, since I usually do a one year photoshoot and figured this would be a great time! So, here are some more of Ander-boy. :)

All the grandkids. :)

Easter!! :)

We were able to go down to Hurricane for a little over a week for Easter and to have a break! It was so needed, and we absolutely loved it. We started the weekend off by coloring Easter eggs, had Easter, and went to the car show in Hurricane. Throughout the rest of the week we got everyone's dentist appointments in, and I even fit a hair appointment in. Between all that we went on walks a few times, had lunch at the splash pad in Hurricane, practiced some baseball,  played with their cousins, went to the park a couple of times, they played outside every single day, and we took extended family pictures! We even built a fire pit and roasted marshmallows for smores. :) Busy, but so good.

The boys loved the car show! This was their first time going and at first they didn't really know what to expect, but once we started walking around they both started pointing out all the different cars they liked. It was especially fun to compare the really old models to the newer models and see how they had changed over the years. Bridger and Beckham both chose their favorite car to vote for before we left. We also got some delicious ice cream! It was a blast, the only thing that would have made it better was if Jeremy could have been there with us. He got down to Hurricane later that night, after a training he had to finish ended. We are happy he got there in time for Easter, though! :)

Beckham's favorite, he had chosen an orange charger earlier, and by the end changed his mind to this one! :)

Bridger's first favorite car at the car show.

And then the car that ended up being his favorite by the end. :)

Grandma Brown always sets up the best Easter egg hunt for all the grandkids! Every kid has their own clues in their own color of eggs, and their baskets are all hidden different places. Then there are boiled eggs hidden around the yard, and plastic eggs full of candy. There are also toys out on the lawn. Basically, it's a big party! :) Grandma and Grandpa take care of the hunt and all the parents take care of their kid's baskets, I think the kids were really happy!

While we were down in Hurricane for the week we decided that we wanted to do some fun things with the boys since things have been so crazy with school. One of those things was roasting marshmallows!! Jeremy and the older boys built an awesome little fire pit in Grandma and Grandpa Brown's backyard while I put Anderson to bed, then they found some good sticks (before Grandpa Brown pulled out the metal roasting sticks, lol), and we pulled up some chairs. The evening was SO beautiful, and the boys had an absolute blast roasting marshmallows and making smores. It made my heart happy to have a slower, calm moment with our family. When Anderson is older, he can join us, too. :)

Anderson had finished his lunch and was just walking around, playing with toys. He found Benson's leftover sandwich on the floor and I found him like this. LOL. :)
