Beckham is FOUR!! :)

It was this sweet boy's birthday on May 25th, I can't believe he turned FOUR!! :)

Every time we said "Happy Birthday!!" to him he would say "Happy Birthday!!" back, and every time it made me smile because he is such a happy kid. I posted some pictures that show his personality...he is so silly, mischievous, so sweet, so full of energy, love and imagination. His laugh is one of our favorite things about him, it's completely contagious and sometimes we'll just start laughing together and not be able to stop. I love his joy. I love his light. I am so grateful that we have him in our family. I couldn't stop saying happy birthday today, I just wanted him to know how much we love him, I said it so much that by the end of the day he said, "you already told me that." Lol.

It's hard for me to sum this boy up in just one post. He keeps us busy, and he seriously has SO MUCH energy. He runs everywhere and is always giggling or roaring, or growling. If he's sad, or gets hurt, I just make him laugh (which is so easy, I can even look at him a certain way and he will start giggling) and he's happy again.

A couple of his most recent mischievous moments:
I told the boys to clean their room, I gave them some wet cloths to dust with and sent them on their way. A few minutes later Bridger yells, "IS THAT A DEAD FISH??!" I was like, "no, that's ridiculous, let me see." And then I gagged because it really looked like a dead fish. I sat both boys down on their beds and waited for the truth of what had happened, I knew Bridger hadn't done it. Beckham proceeded to tell me that the fish had jumped out of the tank onto the bookshelf (which is clear across the room), and he stuck with that story for three more tellings, then he decided that it actually jumped out of the toilet. After we talked about telling the truth he finally admitted that he had held it and it felt weird and he thought it was going to bite him so he threw it and it landed on the shelf. So then I asked him how long ago he had done that and he said 20,000 days. Mmhmmm. I asked him what it felt like to make sure he really had taken it out and he told me, "it felt like water, so I didn't lick it." And then I was just really grateful he hadn't eaten it.

A couple months ago Bridger came charging downstairs, freaking out, and told me that Beckham swallowed a marble. I then charged upstairs in a panic, hoping he could breathe and found him standing sweetly at the top of the stairs, his little guilty grin on his face (the one where he knows he shouldn't laugh but he wants to). I asked him what happened and he told me he swallowed a marble, we then had a good chat about how we NEVER put toys in our mouth. After calling the doctor we just had to wait. He had to poop in a Ziplock bag and then I would seal it up and I made him help me go through it so he would understand. It only took two times, and when we finally saw it I pretended to gag to get the point across. He looked quite terrified. I'm not sure my lesson got through to him, as just last week I once again found him with a marble in his mouth. :l

With this little guy everything has to be fun. Eating, going to bed, getting dressed, getting up in the morning...everything. It has taken me awhile to accept that because we have different personalities. But honestly, that is one of the things I love about him. If you want to giggle, or you want a fist bump or a high five, if you want someone to laugh at your joke, someone to play with, you go to Beckham and he comes through for you every time. He is so willing to share, so sweet and loving. He is strong-willed, confident, independent, determined and stands up for the people he loves. He doesn't let anyone push him, or his brothers, around. People are drawn to him and his fun and chill vibe, he's a little magnet. He's my buddy who I love forever. He truly is a light and joy in our family. He gets in trouble a lot because he is the noisiest, most active kid I have ever seen, but we want him just the way he is and love him for it. His smile and his dimples draw you right in and you pretty much HAVE to smile when he smiles at you, especially when you look in his bright blue eyes that, literally, twinkle. He is so good, through and through. I am so grateful for him.
  • He loves to swim!! He is a little fish and always has been. He does not hesitate to jump right into the water, ever.
  • His favorite foods are cottage cheese, greek yogurt, peanut butter & honey, blueberries, chicken nuggets, strawberries, grapes, baby carrots, apples, and z bars. He LOVES fruit. I could put an entire bowl of blueberries in front of him and he would eat all of them.
  • He is already wearing 5T clothes and he just barely turned 4! Him and Bridger can almost wear the same size of clothes. He is really tall, most people think he is older than he is.
  • He loves Hot Wheels, Lego's, Transformer's, Paw Patrol and Ninja Turtles.
  • He always puts his shirts on backwards. Sometimes even his pants. He just doesn't care. Lol.
  • He loves to read books, sometimes I will find him in his bed just looking at books. I think he will love to learn to read soon!
  • He likes to wear hats and capes, and superhero costumes, especially his Luigi hat I made him for Halloween a couple years ago. He will put something on and wear it all day and even to bed, lol.
  • He knows all of his letters and sounds and can count to 20 before saying "40-10, 40-11, 40-12..." lolol.
  • He says every single prayer of the day! He says it so fast! Breakfast, lunch, dinner, FHE prayer, and bedtime prayers. LOL. He gets really upset if I ask anyone else.
  • Lately he has been telling me during scripture study everything that Jesus made in the world. I told him he needed to raise his hand because it was my turn to talk, so he did and then he just keeps commenting and commenting. lol. I love him so much.
  • He likes to call people "Dude."
  • He still LOVES his baseball blanket and sleeps with it every night. He is super cuddly and likes lots of blankets.
