20 Weeks. :)

When we first found out we were pregnant I was like "ohh, I'm only five weeks, we've still got like eight months and that's forever..." but now we're down to like four months already!! It went so fast. I remember that's how I felt with Bridger, too. :) We bought Bridger a little baby doll and he really likes it, he even gives it kisses. I wanted to give it to him for his birthday but Jeremy was like "no way! You can't give that to him in front of everyone!" So we didn't. ha ha. Anyway...

At 20 weeks...

  • I should be doing my yoga everyday. Guess how many times I've done it total...like two (in 20 weeks??? someone kick my butt).
  • I really like oranges.
  • I'm at that awkward stage where I look like maybe I just ate too much...but I could look pregnant.
  • I pulled out my maternity clothes this week because they are more comfortable even though they are too big and most of my regular jeans still fit. Maternity jeans are just about as good as sweat pants but they are cuter.
  • I got two new maternity shirts. :) whoo!
  • I almost started crying at Motherhood Maternity. Here's the story: I just went in to browse. Let me say that again...browse. Since I had my husband and two year old with me and Motherhood Maternity is a little pricey anyway, but this lady like pulled me in and started piling things in a dressing room (she must get paid good) so I gave Jeremy my "I'm sorry look" and went to go try things on...she asked what we are having while I was looking through a rack of clothes and I told her we are going to keep it a surprise and she was like "ohhh, that's so fun! I wish I would have done that with my little boy!" And I was like, "yeah, my husband wanted a boy the whole time...when he was born he got to announce that he was a boy and he was so happy." And my eyes were like tearing up!! What the crap. I hope she didn't see.
  • I almost pee my pants EVERY Sunday playing the organ until after Sacrament. Seriously. I have to pray to be able to hold it because I can't get off the stand until the Sacrament is over. Have you ever tried playing a Sacrament hymn while you are pregnant and are going to pee your pants??? I wouldn't suggest it. And get this. Fast Sunday (the first week this happened to me) there were THREE baby blessings (which, as most or all of you know, happen before the sacrament). I almost cried. Then, last Sunday, it was ward conference and we had to sustain like the whole church before Sacrament, I almost cried again. I think it's so bad because our ward meets at 1 now, which is right after I eat lunch...plus I have to play 20 minutes of prelude hymns before church starts, so there's no time for me to take a pee break. Yeah, this could be a scary situation as this baby grows. Usually, as soon as the priesthood is released to sit with their families I am like sprinting off the stand and to the bathroom.
  • I have had more energy, and my house is clean again! For awhile there it was sort of falling apart/embarrassing/do not open the door house. But not anymore. :) I deep cleaned the whole thing yesterday and it felt so good.
  • At my last appointment (about 18-19 weeks) I was measuring right around there 18-19 weeks, and we have our ultrasound on Friday. :) I've gained about three pounds, as of...about a week ago.
Here's me at 19 weeks...

And here's Jeremy at 19 weeks. baha. I love him.

My little cutie pie, he's mad because he wants the camera. :)

Him in the act of trying to take the camera. :)

My boys and their new favorite game...shoot the Nerf gun at the highest ceiling in the house and watch the darts fall back down. Bridger llllooooovvvvveeesssss shooting the Nerf gun with his daddy. It's so cute to watch. :) They just lay here forever shooting the darts and laughing when they fall on their faces, I love it. :) little cutie butts.

Two Years Old!! :)

Bridger turned TWO on January 4th, holy cow! The minute he woke up he yelled for me as usual and I jumped out of bed and ran in there and I was all excited and told him it was his birthday...he probably just thought his mom was being strangely happy for 8 am. All day long I told him it was his birthday and at 9:31 am while he was eating his breakfast I freaked out and kissed his cute face all over and told him that two years ago I had just met him for the first time...ha ha it was a fun day. :) We kept this year's party pretty low key, we had our friends the Pickup's come over and Bridger got to play with Capri before we had cake and ice cream, then we opened a few presents, it was perfect. :) He was VERY determined to blow out the candles on his cake, it took him a few minutes but one at a time he got those two candles out, it was so cute.

Here's the first try...

Second try...

Third try...ha ha. :)

Somewhere between the fourth and sixth try he got one of them out, this is probably like the seventh try...daddy is helping now...look at those cute little lips, bahaha.

He finally got both of them out!! :) I love the look Bridger is giving Capri, ha ha. They are so cute together.

I love his face in this one, he is SO excited. :) I love him.

After he opened every present he wanted me to open it up so he could start playing...but nope. ha ha. He had to keep opening!

His favorite present of the night was this mustang, he was freaking out. I think it's supposed to be a model car...Jeremy had one from like 12 years ago that he got for his birthday, it was a Honda Civic with like a body kit on it and everything. Anyway, he let Bridger have it and pretty soon two wheels were missing, a seat fell out, the fin broke off, and the exhaust pipes disappeared...oh, and the hood was gone. So. It looked pretty ghetto. I think since the car was old it just sort of fell apart, plus we had some kids over that kind of did a number on it, ANYWAY, he needed a new big car so Jeremy chose out the perfect one (it had to be a Mustang), and he loves it. :)

Big present...a tricycle!! Whoo!!

He looks happy about it, right? jk. I think he would have like it more if his DADDY would have put it together for him...Jeremy says he's not touching it until the snow melts and he can go outside, so our poor little boy has to stare at the box until Spring. ha ha. I might still be able to convince him...

Now...

The family party!!

I did a theme around The Hungry Caterpillar book. :) This baby is homemade, it's Starlight yellow cake with buttercream frosting and it was yyyuuummmmyyyy.

These two are so cute together. :) Calum and Bridger. We got to stay down in Hurricane for ten days and these boys had a lot of time to play together. They actually got to know each other and it made me happy. :) They were playing the two year old version of "monsters" one of them would make roaring noises and the other one would run...and everything was great until they ran straight into each other and smacked heads! Both of them had big red spots and ran away from each other, it was hilarious. ha ha. :)  They are so cute.

Just some decorations, you can't really see the balloon caterpillar but that's what it was. :)

Blowing out his candles! At this party he blew them out in like two blows! Whoa!

Me and the birthday boy before the party started. He keeps me company, since I'm always the last one at the table. (I don't think I eat slow, I just think everyone else eats fast).

I hesitated to put this picture up but I just had to since I can't stop laughing at it. Both of our faces are just cracking me up.

Bridger obviously didn't care about getting a good family picture, I must have made some good cupcakes!

Happy boy! He ended up with this cute little green mustache that he wore all night.

Opening presents...notice the sweet 'stache.

At our family party we had Jen and all of his cousins over, Aaron, Aunt Bri, Grandma & Grandpa Brown, and Grandpa Jarvis over and it was a blast. :) We just did cake, ice cream and presents and then let the kids play...I think he had a lot of fun at his parties. :)

Last year we had a pretty big party for his first birthday and he got pretty overwhelmed, plus, it was a LOT of work. Next year I will let him invite a few more friends and let him choose his own party, if he cares. :)

A little update on how he is doing!

He has been talking SO much, it seemed like for awhile he just chose his very favorite words and used them and wouldn't try anymore, but a couple weeks ago he just started saying EVERYTHING. He has the cutest voice and way of pronouncing his words, I want to record everything he says so I can remember. :) He's been saying more sentences, too, like where'd it go/where is it?, I don't know, let's go, here you go.

Words he uses the most:

Boo-a (for book), coat, hat, shoes, toys, car, na-na (for binky, don't know where that came from), pshease (for please, it's so cute), more, oh no!, go go!, down, door, poo, daddy, mama, grandma, ears, eyes, toes, nose, teeth, dude, oh shoot!, snow, da-dye (for bye-bye), fish, one-two-three-four (sometimes in order, but his fav one to say is two and three), he also says the letter "B," and Elmo.

Pretty soon I won't be able to write all the words down because there are so many! Already I'm missing a lot because I think kids this age just start learning more words so fast you can't remember...

Lately he has been loving books, he likes to grab his binky and cuddle in mine or his daddy's lap in the rocking chair and read book after book. He's been really cuddly lately, he likes to grab his binky and get in our bed in the morning and just lay in there with us, it's cute. Sometimes, when I'm cleaning or something he will just want to get under the covers and rest there, he's so funny. :)

Just recently he has been getting really attached to his daddy, and I love it! He yells "daddy, daddy!!" when he hears the garage opening after he gets home from work everyday and immediately wants to play. He's okay letting him cuddle him in the night if he wakes up now, too, which is sort of a big step for us. :) I can just tell that they have gotten a lot closer in the past few weeks, it makes me happy.

He's also been willing to try more foods lately, usually he spits it out but I cheer for him when he at least tastes it. There are certain things he will eat for sure and others he won't even touch, but over the last few weeks I've seen him getting a little better about it. His favorite foods are Mac & Cheese, grilled cheese, pizza, and ham casserole (without ham, ha ha). He likes toast, yogurt, string cheese, pretzels, gold fish, Life cereal, frosted Cheerios, Peanut Butter Crunch, boiled eggs, and garlic bread. He will only eat soup or spaghetti if he has garlic bread to dip in it, he's pretty particular. He also loves those fruit cups, but there's a routine...first he sucks the juice out with a twirly straw, then and ONLY then, will he eat the fruit with his blue fork. He will eat pears and peaches in those, nothing else. :) He also loves his chocolate milk before bed (carnation in almond milk).

I weaned him over the Christmas break. :( He actually did just fine, he was still nursing (pretty much what I would consider a healthy snack) three times a day but it just started hurting too much and my milk was going away from being pregnant. So two weeks at a time I weaned him, the last one was the night time nursing which was the hardest one, I felt bad, but I only planned on nursing until he was two anyway and that was only like a week before his birthday. I am grateful I was able to nurse him that long, nursing brings such a special bond and it's so healthy, I love it. I'll miss that time together and being so close to him, but I know it was the right time...I just wish there was something equally healthy to replace it with... :s

He will NOT eat mashed/baked potatoes, or any vegetable (knowingly), or rice.

His new thing lately is when he gets an owie he'll show me and I'll kiss it, then he will kiss it too with a big huge smack. It's so cute, I laugh every time. When he sees an owie on me or his dad (or even a mole or something he thinks is an owie) he will kiss it, ha ha, he's such a sweetheart.

If I pretend to cry, he will really start crying, he's really sensitive about how I react to things he does...so I don't do that anymore, ha ha.

At his two year appointment he weighed 27 lbs, his height and weight were both at about 25-30 percentile range still and NO shots this time, whoo!!! Not until kindergarten now. :)

I love my little man. :)

Happy New Year!! :)

New Year's Eve was pretty low key for us, Jeremy had to work all day and I was home with Bridger trying to avoid the mouse. We were a little bummed we couldn't stay in Hurricane longer to celebrate with my family but we ended up having an awesome evening! We invited Justin and Amanda (our next door neighbors) over for dinner. Bridge and Capri had a blast playing and they both, surprisingly ate some of my homemade pizza. :) We put our kids to bed and then watched a movie, that new batman one, whatever it's called...I thought it was really good! Amanda made some amazing peppermint brownies that I could have eaten all night too. mmm.

We started our movie, but had to pause it halfway through so we could watch the ball drop and count down with it online at midnight (yes. it was a replay, Jeremy gives me a hard time about that ha ha), then we had sparkling cider in our crystal wine glasses (ha. probably just glass, but hey. crystal is more fun). It's just a little tradition we have. :) After that we finished our movie, it didn't end until around two in the morning!! Holy cow. I could hardly keep my eyes open. But we had such a blast, I'm so grateful for awesome friends. :) But sadly, I totally spaced getting any pictures...

I'm not way into setting New Year goals, because usually I just forget them in a month...or week. I just try to do better everyday. :) I don't really like to dwell on the past too much because I get kind of sad, but 2012 held a lot of changes for us and definitely a lot of growing...with parenting, callings, and some personal things. And I just have to say this, it went so fast. So fast it kind of scares me because where did all that time go?? That's why I'm sad! It feels like my baby just turned one and now his second birthday is...TOMORROW. I'm sort of having a small break down right now, and I sort of expected it. ;) I did on his first birthday too. All night I've been telling Jeremy "honey, I was in labor with Bridger right now two years ago..." and tomorrow morning at 9:31 AM I'm sure I'll say, "honey! Bridger had just barely been born...two years ago this very minute I was holding my brand new, beautiful, handsome baby boy in my arms for the first time." And I'll probably be holding Bridger, crying. ha ha. While he tries to go play with his toys because he doesn't really know it's his birthday and doesn't understand why I'm crying. Anyway, I'll probably have a post up about his birthday tomorrow night. :) ha ha.

Anyway, Happy New Year everyone. :) I hope this year is great for all of you!

These last three are just random pics that I totally forgot to post...this was probably back in August or September...those are Grandpa's glasses and he LOVES to play on the computer. He's my little nerd and I love it.

My two boys and their cute beanies. :)

This was really supposed to be a Christmas present but Bridge got it on New Year's Day, he was SO excited, he couldn't even wait for daddy to finish putting it together!

One of my all time favorite pictures. :) ha ha. I love this boy. He's such a goofball.

His first time in the snow!!...and in his snowsuit...he didn't like it too much at first.

He's so cute. He wasn't so sure about the snow boots either and he was walking all funny without bending his knees, it was hilarious! Pretty soon he got the hang of it and he loved it, he keeps handing me his snow boots so he can go outside. :) My little marshmallow. :)

Intruder! :l

It seems like whenever we leave for more than like five days a mouse decides to take over the house.

No way. When I see a mouse the war is on.

I HATE mice. They freak the crap out of me and make me feel like my house has been tainted and made all filthy. It's disgusting.

SO.

We left for Christmas on a Thursday and stayed all the way until the next Sunday evening, ten days total...you can guess what we came home to find...

We got home late, the roads were awful so instead of a 3.5 hour drive it took us 5 hours to get home and I had a headache. When we finally got there it was 10:30 pm, so Bridge went straight to bed. But THEN we forgot Jeremy needed a haircut before work the next day, so at 11 at night I gave him a haircut. He showered and we got ready for bed, by the time we were in bed it was after midnight! I passed out immediately, I was exhausted. Awhile later I heard Jeremy roll out of bed and I groggily asked him what time it was, he told me it was almost 1 in the morning, but that he heard something downstairs...how am I supposed to sleep after that???

My heart was pounding because I wasn't sure what he had heard so I listened as he went downstairs, then I heard him say "aaahhh man!" and then I heard some silverware being thrown in the sink. In that moment I knew there was a mouse. He set out a trap and came back upstairs but then we both kept thinking we heard things and were all nervous, I think we finally both fell asleep around 2. Jeremy had to wake up early for work, I felt so bad. :(

So, the next day Bridger and I ate breakfast in bed because I was too scared to go downstairs with the disgusting creature that was hiding somewhere, so now I have broken Life cereal and little sugar crystals in my sheets. We left the house for most of the morning and got back in the late afternoon, I hadn't seen anything and I was feeling pretty good, maybe we scared that dang mouse away!!

I locked Bridger upstairs with the baby gate while I cleaned so he wouldn't get into the traps or get touched by the mouse. I came downstairs feeling really good, cleaning my house and not feeling so scared...but I opened the pantry and leaned in to put away the cereal and this mouse literally JUMPS OUT AT ME!

I must admit I have never screamed a scream like that in my life. And I apologize to anyone who was outside our house because I am sure it sounded like I was being murdered.

Here's me: "AAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHH!!!! AAAAHHHH!!! AAAAAHHHHH!!! AAAAAAHHHHHH!!!!!"

Here's the mouse: ...

But it like jumped at me and it was shaking and freaking out. When I finally got control of myself I ran to a chair and stood there until my brain started functioning. I ripped my phone out of my pocket and called Jeremy and when he answered I shakily told him what happened as I tried to control my hyperventilating. I could tell he was trying not to laugh. My limbs were tingling and I couldn't catch my breath I heard Bridger crying upstairs, locked up there by the baby gate until he pushed it down and I heard him at the top of the stairs, when I told him to stay there he started crying again. (I'm just the most brave, most awesome mom huh? ha ha.) Jeremy told me to put a trap where I'd seen the mouse, but I just couldn't get that close, so I grabbed some sticky paper I bought and threw it on the floor, then shoved it into place using our mop. I then made a chair bridge and hopped across them to get upstairs to my crying and very upset child. I didn't go back downstairs until Jeremy got home an hour later. That night we set out every trap in our house and all the sticky paper, that mouse didn't have a chance.

The next day (New Year's) the mouse was caught, I saw it stuck on the sticky paper and almost threw up. My awesome husband took care of it for me and then we had to deep clean and sanitize our ENTIRE kitchen. Happy New Year to us! Ha. At least we are starting out with a sparkling kitchen. :) We went to Wal Mart that day and bought plastic tubs for everything edible on the bottom two shelves of our pantry...no mouse is eating breakfast, lunch, or dinner in our pantry again. :)

I'm still a little afraid of the pantry, I think I may have been a little bit traumatized. Bridger too, maybe, since he heard me screaming. I'm not sure about that.

At least the mouse is gone. And I hope there are no more. :)
