At his two year doctor appointment he was 51% (27.8 lbs) for weight, and 97% for height! He is SO tall! He has been wearing 3T clothes already. Also, he cried through his whole appointment.
- He is absolutely, completely adorable. Everything about him. He is so loving and sweet, it emanates from him. He loves to wrap his arms around you and snuggle, he gives sweet little kisses and is so gentle with Anderson and our little dog Captain.
- He says "mama, dada" at random, almost like he's saying "hey Mom, hey Dad," or just to acknowledge us or something. It is adorable. I love him so much.
- Starting at about 18 months he has gotten even busier than before. There was a day when Jeremy was getting home really late and I was trying to make dinner, which was crazy, and it was freezing cold and dark outside. I asked Bridger and Beckham if Benson was in the front room and they said no, so I asked them to go look upstairs for him, they did and told me they couldn't find him. So, at this point I start to panic, take the bacon and eggs off the stove and start racing through the house (which is 5,900 sq ft) and can't find him. I ran back downstairs and had no idea where he could be, and started praying. I could hear his tiny voice somewhere, but couldn't see him. I glanced over and realized the sliding door was open, but the screen door was closed, I ran outside and there he was...standing in our playhouse at the top of the slide calling "mama" so I would come help him slide down. I just started bawling and grabbed him down and hugged him so tight. He didn't even know why I was upset!! lol. He just wanted to go down the slide. After that he escaped out to the backyard a few more times, using a tiny kid rocking chair, and then dining table chairs to unlock the door and go out to play. He is now two and STILL does it!! He absolutely loves to be outside. I have to watch him so close.
- I would say he is our quietest, but busiest child. He has a very calming personality (I think he gets that from his Daddy, they are both Type 2's), and just holding him calms me. He has been that way since he was born. But he is into everything!
- Some of his favorite words are "mana" (the same word for banana, Grandma, and Brianna, LOLOL), "bapa" (Grandpa), "bada" (blanket), "mo, or moine" (more), "peash" (please), "woof, woof" (dog), "choo choo" (trains), "car," sheeze" (cheese), "shoo" (two), "moose" (for his favorite moose stuffed animal), "shoes," "bopple" (apple) and "baby." He can show and tell us hair, eyes, nose, teeth, ears, and belly. He also says "oh! Wow!" or "Whoa!" When something exciting happens or we speed up fast in the car, lol. He can say "talk oo" (thank you) and mama and dada, cow/moo, quack-quack, ew!, all done, pee, ow, ball, pants, mine, and bye.
- His favorite toys are trains and cars, and marble races. We got him a toddler marble race for his birthday because he always wants to play with the older boys' marble race and he accidentally breaks it. lol. He also loves to watch Umi Zumi, there is a "Chicks in the City" episode that he LOVES. lol.
- He sleeps really good most of the time, he goes to bed around 8-8:30 and sleeps until 7-730, usually. He also still takes an afternoon nap from about 1-4. Just two weeks ago, he started climbing out of his crib in the morning!! What??!! He is the first kid we've had to do this. He just sits in the rocking chair with his binky, blanket and moose and waits, or he looks out his window and says, "wow!"
- He loves his blanket that Grandma Brown made him, he also loves his binky, and he loves his Moose, who he calls Moose. Those are the three things he sleeps with. He also loves to wear his zip-up jammies ALL the time. Like, I try to get him dressed and he brings me his jammies and then gets mad when I won't put them on.
- When people that he doesn't know try to talk to him he gives them this WAY dirty look and blinks all slow and looks away. LOL.
- He loves to gallop around, and he just started doing this run where he looks like a little quarterback or something.
- He isn't very picky and I think he eats a good variety of foods, he likes avocado with a little salt on it, he loves cheese, grilled cheese, chicken, ketchup, chicken nuggets, brown rice, sweet potatoes, white potatoes, peanut butter sandwiches, Annie's shells, blueberries, strawberries, cucumbers, cooked carrots, peeled apples, greek yogurt, granola, tacos...pretty much anything we give him. Sometimes he just won't be in the mood for something and pushes it away, but there really hasn't been anything we've found that he consistently pushes away. He does eat greek yogurt the most, he has it for breakfast and before bed as a snack, and is our go-to if he won't eat anything else.
- He has gone pee on the toilet a few times, I think he could potty train, but with our new baby being born and us now moving we decided to wait. lol. Every time we take his diaper off he runs to the toilet saying pee! pee!
